Via Widespread Creative:

Are you a professional video editor based in Austin, TX with advanced motion graphics and design skills?

Our Austin-based production company and creative ad agency is currently looking to hire professional video editors who also have motion graphics and graphic design abilities with a broad knowledge of industry-standard practices and workflows for post-production editing of broadcast and narrative content and advertising design creative.

Applicant needs to have credible experience working with Premiere, Avid and FCP, as well as Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects and other relevant programs. Must have general working knowledge of all current cinema camera formats from Canon, Red, Arri, Sony etc. and be experienced with transcoding footage, audio sweetening and color correction for broadcast.

You'll need knowledge and proficiency with motion graphics and titling, as the duties of this editor position are turnkey from working with the producers on initial outlines and production plans to media managing and AEing at our shop while also often handling the full edit from ingestion to picture lock on anything from 6 second digital video or social media ads to 30 second TV spots and branded content to longer broadcast episodics, feature length narratives and documentaries.

You'll also want to have good time management and communication skills, be self-motivated and responsible and need to regularly coordinate with various broadcast media companies per deliverables, schedules and the like, depending on the client, campaign and/or projects at hand. So this isn't just a run-of-the-mill editing job, it's more a holistic opportunity to be involved in all the various aspects of work that go along with editing video and designing ads for traditional and broadcast media campaigns and agency clients. This keeps it interesting, it also means you need to be a good multitasker.

Oh, and it's important that you're a good story teller, or at least understand and appreciate the importance of good three act story structure and great characters in order to create compelling narratives.
Our work and jobs are constantly changing. Our work environment is fun but productive. We develop and produce all kinds of productions out of our small shop in downtown Austin, from local to national content, and as such we wear many hats including writing, running cameras and producing and we expect our editor(s) and designer(s) to also be proficient in many areas of their respective profession.

We're offering this position on an initial hourly contract basis, pay dependent on experience, for up to 40+ hours a week initially. There is the possibility of joining our team full-time with benefits moving forward if the work goes well and you're a good fit with our culture.
Please send your Contact Info, Resume and Reel and/or Portfolio. If we are interested in speaking with you we will contact you. Thanks in advance for your interest.
