Torfoot Films current business plan is to develop at least 3-4 projects a year (business description below). They’ll pay per project for sales and financing services, plus a percent of the film once it’s financed.
About Torfoot Films:
They develop and package film and television series projects. Their services include screenwriting, production budgeting and scheduling, concept art, casting/talent attachment, crew attachments, and foreign and domestic sales services. They then present this complete package to individual investors, studios, and other potential financing and distribution partners.
Their development fee covers the above services over a period of approximately 12-18 months. After financing and distribution is secured, they produce/co-produce and launch the projects. This development fee only covers a small portion of their team’s time, resources and expertise, and the balance is their investment in the project. They only agree to develop properties that they intend to produce and distribute and that their experience tells them will be successful in the marketplace.

As with any workplace, the film and television industries can present a wide range of potential occupational health and safety hazards to workers. The Texas Film Commission expects all productions, regardless of budget to employ best practices such as establishing a workplace harassment prevention policy as well as maintaining overall industry safety standards in order to encourage and accomplish safety on set. Please visit the Safety On Set page for additional industry safety resources as well as information about employee rights and laws in Texas.
