It covers basic concepts of finishing and post workflows, as well as the technical and aesthetic theories that influence colorists. They will also be more prepared to consider color correction during pre-production when planning projects for the future. Topics include but not limited to: basic color theory, post workflow and codecs, luminance control, hue offset, power windows, motion tracking, color “correction” vs building a “look”, common problems and how to tackle them, flat vs broadcast images and LUTs.
THE ART OF COLOR CORRECTION
This 3-hour, intermediate presentation style class explores the history and theory of color correction. Designed for content creators, directors, or aspiring colorists, participants will leave the course with the ability to speak to other artists about the color needs of their own projects, as well as begin to explore and apply the art form to their future work.
These two classes are held every 1 to 3 months on a weekend or week nights (based on Instructor’s availability) with a maximum of 8 participants for Intro to DaVinci Resolve and 10 for The Art of Color Correction.
