Roy W. Dean Short Film Grant

Regular Deadline: Apr 29, 2023

Now, in its 3rd year, the Roy W. Dean Short Film Grant is now open for entries.  The grant offers the winner $3,000 and thousands more in donated services to help them complete their film.  The grant is sponsored by the 501(c)3 non-profit From the Heart Productions which is dedicated to helping independent filmmakers get their films funded.

The grant seeks short films that are unique and that make a contribution to society. Grant is open to narrative fiction shorts, live action or animated, that are 40 minutes or less in length.  

In addition to the $3,000 cash prize, the winner will also receive $3,000.00 in music and audio services from well-known composer David Raiklen, $6,000.00 in animation from Emmy award winner Charlie Canfield, $1,400 value (4 hours of sound mix session) from Silver Sound, and more from other donors supporting indie filmmaking.
