About the Event:

Join Video Game Makers Unite! (VGMU) for their discussion about designing the horizon with Damion Schubert. Game design is a design of loops within loops. The hard part is making five minutes of awesome gameplay, but after that, the game needs to be extended to engage the player for an hour, a day, a week or longer. This talk centers on how to design that journey, how to think about different kinds of users who have different expectations, how to keep things open-ended for expandability, and how these designs and expectations must keep business realities in mind.

Damion Schubert is the Creative Director of Boss Fight Austin, whose next title may have launched by the time you read this in March 2021. He has over 20 years of experience in the games industry, with most of his experience being in MMO design and development. His areas of focus includes the design or MMO systems, RPG elements, social systems such as guild gameplay, and monetization.
