  • Texas Film Round-Up (Fort Bend County)

Texas Film Round-Up (Fort Bend County)

When:

March 16, 2017 to April 26, 2017

About the Event:

When: March 16 - 26, 2017

Where: Fort Bend County

About the event: TAMI is excited to bring its award-winning Texas Film Round-Up to Fort Bend County. From March 16-26, individuals interested in our FREE digitization program can drop off their Texas-related film and videotapes at the George Memorial Library in Richmond (2nd floor), the Bob Lutts Library in Fulshear, or Sugar Land City Hall during business hours. We encourage citizens of Richmond, Rosenberg, Katy, Sugar Land, Fulshear, Needville and everywhere in between to dig their films and videos out of attics and garages and bring them to the Round-Up for free digitization!

The Texas Film Round-Up provides FREE digitization for Texas-related films and videos in exchange for the donation of a digital copy of the materials to www.texasarchive.org. Since 2008, the program has provided new access to more than 30,000 films and videos and served hundreds of individuals and institutions.  The program is open to home movies, advertisements, local television, community films, and more. Your films and videotapes are valuable records of Texas history and culture, and with your help, Texas’ media heritage will be available for future generations to appreciate.  To qualify for free digitization, participants must be willing to donate a digital copy of their materials to TAMI’s archive, a digital collection at texasarchive.org. We also collect copies of Texas-related films that have already been digitized. A list of accepted formats for the program is available on TAMI's website.
