About the Event:

When: Tuesday, March 28, 2017
7:00 - 10:00 p.m.

Where: Austin, TX
Violet Crown Cinema

About the event: Check out an encore screening of Hot Air as part of the Austin Film Festival's Jury Award Series. Christopher Roldan, the film’s editor, will be joining us for a Q&A after the screening! Chris is a member of the Motion Picture Editor’s Guild as well as the Academy of TV Arts and Sciences. In 2015, Roldan was voted by UT alumni as one of the top 10 professors in Alcalde Magazine’s “Texas Ten”. Most recently, Christopher edited the documentary A Brave Heart: The Lizzie Valesquez Story which won the 2015 SXSW Film Festival Audience Award and Stories Women Tell, which had its premiere at the 2016 Tribeca Film Festival and will air on HBO this fall.

About the film: A young man (Matthew Gray Gubler) attends the funeral of his biological father, a man he never knew, only to meet a mysterious, quirky stranger (Jere Burns), who claims to have been best friends with his dad. The two set out on a comic adventure, helping one pursue the love of his life while the other leaves a trail of broken hearts and bank accounts in his wake.
