Governor Abbott Announces Latest Slate Of Appointments
This week, Governor Greg Abbott selected multiple qualified candidates to serve on behalf of Texans.
137th Judicial District Court – Governor Abbott appointed Laura Beth Fossett as Judge of the 137th Judicial District Court in Lubbock County for a term set to expire December 31, 2026.
Commission on Fire Protection – Governor Abbott appointed Enrique Mata to the Texas Commission on Fire Protection for a term set to expire on February 1, 2027. The Commisson develops and enforces statewide fire service standards and provides education and assistance to the industry.
Sulphur River Regional Mobility Authority – Governor Abbott appointed Chase Coleman to the Sulphur River Regional Mobility Authority for a term set to expire on February 1, 2027. The Regional Mobility Authority is a political subdivision that allows local transportation planning and project delivery leaders to partner with the state to deliver transportation infrastructure projects that serve Delta, Fannin, Hunt, and Lamar counties.
Texas Council for Developmental Disabilities – Governor Abbott appointed Calvin Davis and Alicia Deal, Ph.D. to the Texas Council for Developmental Disabilities for terms set to expire on February 1, 2027, and February 1, 2029, respectively. The council helps people with developmental disabilities achieve their potential for independence, productivity, and integration into their communities through the development of a comprehensive system of services and supports.
