First Lady Addresses Heart Of Business Summit In Austin
Texas First Lady Cecilia Abbott today attended and provided the luncheon keynote at the first annual Heart of Business Summit. The Summit is hosted by Austin Gives, a program of the Austin Chamber of Commerce that recognizes and encourages business philanthropy.
“It is such an honor to be with so many extraordinary, generous Austin businesses,” the First Lady said. “Businesses giving back is personal to me because of my time managing the philanthropic efforts of the company and its employees when I worked for a business here in Austin. I would also like to extend a special thanks to Austin Gives for hosting this day of learning, and for all your efforts to honor Austin businesses for the many ways they serve their fellow Texans.”
The first Heart of Business Summit aims to inspire, educate and engage both business and non-profit leaders to build more meaningful and impactful partnerships. At the half-day summit, attendees will learn about the changing landscape of business and the importance of community engagement in their business model.
