TMO Events at Americana Conference 2019
Texas music showcases, afternoon industry mixers, panel discussions featuring TMO staff, the Texas Music Office has partnered with several groups to present Texas music at the Americana Music Conference and Festival in Nashville September 11-14.
PANEL: Radney Foster & Kimmie Rhodes Talk "The Dancehall Tapes": A Texas Music Doc Series

The Westin - Gulch I & II
Come see the world premiere of "The Dancehall Tapes" (TDT) Season One highlights video! TDT is a music documentary series that pairs a legendary Texas musician with an iconic Texas dance hall. Each 40-minute episode is an intimate portrait of both musician and dance hall through live acoustic performances, conversations about the halls (then & now) and a deep dive into who these musicians are outside of their music. Season One features 10 of the greatest Texas musicians, and they're just getting started! Two of the featured musicians, as well as the filmmakers, will be sharing stories about their experience during this process and why this feels so important. TMO Program Specialist Steve Ray will moderate the panel.
Building A Music Friendly Community Panel

This panel will explore how state and city governments, arts councils and convention & visitors bureaus help to establish best practices and grow the music economy starting at a local level. We will look at the successes various cities have garnered, resulting in programs that have helped artists tour domestically and internationally, fostered artists and music industry professionals to receive healthcare, and helped industry professionals gain business referrals. What are the resources, tools and advocacy needed to help make musicians ambassadors for your community and drive the creative economy? Panelists and moderators include: Austin Music Movement's Nick Shuley, TMO's Brendon Anthony, and Visit Fort Worth's Tom Martens.

At The Americana Music Association’s annual AmericanaFest, The House of Songs will partner with the Texas Music Office and produce a day show at INDO Nashville on Thursday Sep. 12 (Noon - 2pm) featuring Free Tacos, Texas Artists Jaimee Harris, Peter More, Jane Ellen Bryant, Josh Halverson, Jonathan Terrell and Shane Smith and The Saints, UK Artists Jamie Freeman and Elles Bailey, Arkansas Artist Dylan Earl, and Netherlands Artist Judy Blank. No wristbands or badges required!
