TMO August 2019 Community Outreach
Throughout August, the Texas Music Office participated in conferences, workshops, and held workshops of its own, across the state and in neighboring Louisiana. The following are some highlights from the TMO's August community outreach.
- August 13, TMO Director Brendon Anthony joined representatives from the Texas Film Commission to present resources available in the state for film and music production at the Dallas Producers Association panel discussion.
- August 14, Anthony gave a talk at the Texas Association of Convention and Visitors Bureaus (TACVB) about the TMO's Music Friendly Community program. The conference gathered the perfect audience for the TMO, as the Texas Music Office often collaborates with various Convention & Visitor's Bureaus to present Music Friendly Community workshops in cities around the state.
- August 24, Anthony presented TMO music industry recsources at the Cutting Edge CE Entertainment Law and Business summit in New Orleans. His presentation took place during the "Building Music Communities: Public Policy, Non-Profits, and Music Business in Partnership" panel during the conference.
- August 28, The TMO joined Keep Waco Loud and a host of community partners (The Music Association of Central Texas, Creative Waco, The Arts Alliance and The Waco Convention and Visitors Bureau) to present a Music Friendly Community workshop in Waco (pictured on this page). Waco city leaders and the city's music business professionals joined to workshop to learn about the TMO program, and plot next steps toward the program certification.
