Community Based Care Expands in Region 2
Texas is committed to securing our most at-risk children a life worthy of their promise.
Last week, the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services made great progress to that goal with the latest implementation of Community-Based Care in Region 2, serving Wichita Falls and the surrounding area.
Community-Based Care (CBC) is a better way to provide services than traditional foster care because it gives local communities the flexibility to draw on local strengths and resources and find innovative ways to meet the unique and individual needs of children and their families. This new phase in Region 2 transfers case management services from the state to the local provider. It is the second region to make this transition and Texas eagerly looks forward to more progress.
When communities take ownership of this process, it leads to better outcomes.
