Host Communities Announced For 2026 Digital Media Friendly Texas Workshops
The Texas Economic Development & Tourism Office within the Office of the Governor today announced the Texas Film Commission (TFC) has selected the cities of Dallas and Buda as host communities for Digital Media Friendly Texas Workshops to be held in July and October. Communities across Texas interested in pursuing local job creation and economic expansion strategies by becoming Digital Media Friendly Texas Certified are invited to attend.
“Texas’ growing media and digital media production industries support local jobs and attract new investment in communities across our great state,” said Governor Greg Abbott. “The Texas Film Commission works with our community partners to market their unique skills, attract digital media production, and grow local jobs in animation, visual effects, video games, and extended reality. I invite all Texas communities to attend a workshop to leverage the advantages of being certified as a Digital Media Friendly Texas Community.”
Community leaders who are employed by their city or county government, convention and visitors bureau, chamber of commerce, or local economic development corporation and who will serve as the designated Digital Media Friendly Texas liaison for facilitating media production inquiries are encouraged to attend a workshop. Attending a workshop is one of the required steps for certification.

Already certified Digital Media Friendly Texas communities include Cedar Park, Lubbock, Little Elm, Paris, and Rockport.
