The Office of the Governor is looking for an Administrative Assistant (Administrative Assistant IV) to work within the Texas Regulatory Efficiency Office.

The salary is $4,500.00 - $4,833.34 a month ($54,000.00 - $58,000.08 a year).

What You’ll Do
This position performs highly complex (senior-level) administrative support work for the Texas Regulatory Efficiency Office (75%) and the Texas Advanced Nuclear Energy Office (25%). Work involves distributing and managing correspondence and information, as well as maintaining and organizing files, records, and calendars. Maintains strict confidentiality and works within tight deadlines with competing priorities. Demonstrates independence, interpersonal effectiveness, teamwork, and the ability to manage and maintain well-organized functions and details in all areas as assigned.
- Provides administrative assistance to division staff, including maintaining files, contacts, and calendars, as directed.
- Performs general office duties such as greeting guests, answering phone calls from internal and/or external customers, monitoring division email inboxes, and routing all incoming communications to the appropriate recipient(s).
- Responds to high number of complex and routine information requests — both written and oral.
- Manages and maintains the Director’s schedule.
- Coordinates meetings, conferences, and events.
- Facilitates interview meetings as well as onboarding for new division staff.
- Conducts administrative reviews of reports, documents, applications, or summaries to ensure administrative completeness.
- Monitors and maintains office inventory and maintenance requirements as appropriate. Ensures operation of equipment by calling for repairs.
- Assists with timely and accurate data entry into the office database.
- Compiles materials for meetings, conferences, presentations, events, and trainings, as assigned.
- Serves as the Public Information Request Coordinator for the division in responding to valid requests for public information.
- Serves as Additional Duty Safety Officer (ADSO) for the division.
- Serves as the Travel Liaison for the division. Coordinates and processes travel related forms and documents for the division.
- Serves as the Purchase Requisition Coordinator for the division. Coordinates and processes purchase requisitions for the division.
- Serves as the Records Management Coordinator for the division. Develops and maintains filing, recordkeeping, and records management systems. Assists with inventory and classification of division files according to the OOG Records Retention Schedule.
- Remains well-informed of division and OOG initiatives, operations, new releases, web content, programs, statewide trends, OOG policies and procedures.
- Maintains regular attendance and may work extended hours, as needed.
How You’ll Qualify
- High school graduate or equivalent; and
- Three (3) years of experience in administrative support, office work, program support, or customer service-related position.
Note: Experience and education may be substituted for one another on a year-for-year basis.
You’re a Great Fit with
- Graduation from an accredited two-year college or four-year university with a degree in business administration, management, human resources, government, public administration, or related field; and
- Strong communication and computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
