State of Texas United Kingdom Office
The State of Texas UK Office (TX-UK Office)—established in 2026 and funded during the 89th Texas Legislative Session—operates under the Texas Economic Development & Tourism Office, within the Office of the Governor. The TX-UK Office's mission is to attract foreign direct investment (FDI) and job creation into Texas and increase Texas exports into the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. The TX-UK Office will support the promotion of the Texas business climate, grow international trade and tourism and support activities that are key to the economy.
Why Texas?
Texas and the UK have a strong and growing economic partnership. In 2025, total trade between Texas and the UK was $17.6 billion. In fact, when looking over the past decade, the UK has been the #1 source for FDI and new jobs created by FDI into Texas, reporting $10.3 billion in capital investment and more than 18,160 new jobs.
“Made in Texas” has never been a more powerful global brand. Texas remains the top state for exports for the last 24 years in a row and has been named the Best State for Business in the U.S. for 22 straight years. With an economy valued at an estimated USD $2.9 trillion—the eighth-largest compared to the nations of the world—Texas is where global leaders choose to do business.
