The Department of Music at Texas A&M University at Kingsville offers comprehensive programs leading to a Bachelor of Music in Performance, Bachelor of Music in Music Education (teacher certification), Bachelor of Music in Sound Recording Technology, Bachelor of Arts with a minor or Music, Master of Music in Music Education. The music programs prepare students for various careers as music educators, audio engineers, administrators, and professional musicians.
Performance opportunities include the Wind Symphony, Concert Band, Marching Band, Jazz Bands I, II, and III, Jazz Combo, Brass Ensembles, Percussion Ensembles, Concert Choir, Opera Workshop, Jazz Singers, Musical Theatre, Mariachi Javelina, and Woodwind Ensembles.
Performance facilities include the Music Education Complex, housing a 486 seat performance hall, a 136 seat recital hall, and a state of the art recording studio.
