Governor Abbott Receives Briefing From DPS Director McCraw On Texas Border Security
Governor Greg Abbott today met with Texas Department of Public Safety Director Steve McCraw to discuss the State’s ongoing border security operations. Director McCraw briefed Governor Abbott on DPS’s implementation of Texas’ border security plan and recruitment of additional DPS troopers at or near the Texas-Mexico border.
“Texas remains steadfast in its commitment to keep our border secure and our communities safe,” said Governor Abbott. “It is crucial for Texas to continue its leadership role in stemming the tide of illegal border crossings, preventing narcotics from flowing into our neighborhoods and combatting criminal activity.
