Governor Abbott Reappoints Three To Texas Board Of Respiratory Care

Governor Greg Abbott has reappointed Latana Jackson-Woods, Shad Pellizzari and Sonia Sanderson to the Texas Board of Respiratory Care for terms set to expire February 1, 2023. The board advises the Texas Medical Board, adopts rules to establish the certification and permitting program for respiratory therapists and sets minimum qualifications for respiratory care practitioners, standards of conduct and grounds for disciplinary actions.

Latana Jackson-Woods of Cedar Hill is director of Cardiopulmonary, EEG and Non-Invasive Cardiology at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center Irving. She volunteers with the Outreach Ministry at Antioch Baptist Church of Dallas and is a member of the American Association for Respiratory Care and the Texas Society of Respiratory Care. Jackson-Woods received a Bachelor of Arts in respiratory care from Texas State University and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix.

Shad Pellizzari of Cedar Park is a respiratory therapist for the Seton Family of Hospitals and certified neonatal pediatric specialist. He is a member of the National Board of Respiratory Care and the Texas Society of Respiratory Care, where he served as president of the Capital Area District. He also volunteers as a coach with the Cedar Park Baseball Youth League and is a former Boy Scouts of America den leader. Pellizzari received Bachelor of Science in respiratory care from Texas State University.

Sonia Sanderson of Beaumont is a paralegal with Exxon Mobil Corporation Law Department. She is a member of the American Alliance of Paralegal, Inc. and a former member of the Southeast Texas Paralegal Association. She is also a volunteer with Julie Rogers’ Gift of Life Program and the United Way of Southeast Texas. Sanderson received a bachelor’s degree from Lamar University.
