Governor Abbott Appoints Three To The Judicial Compensation Commission
Governor Greg Abbott has reappointed Conrith Davis and appointed Isaac Castro and Fred Tate to the Judicial Compensation Commission for terms set to expire on February 1, 2023. The commission recommends the proper salaries to be paid by the state for all justices and judges of the Supreme Court, Court of Criminal Appeals, Courts of Appeals and state district courts
Conrith Davis of Sugar Land previously served as a board member of the Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles. He retired from the United States Air Force as a Lt. Colonel, having served twenty-two years on active duty. During this time, Davis earned numerous meritorious awards and citations for exceptional leadership. He also worked as a sales executive, consulting medium to large law firms. He is the chairman of the Sugar Land Ethics Task Force, Multi-Cultural Advisory Team, and Parks Bond Committee. He is a life member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity and member of the Rotary E-Club of Houston. Davis received a Bachelor of Arts from Fayetteville State University and a master’s degree from Pepperdine University. Additionally, he attended several executive education programs at the University of Pennsylvania, Wharton School of Business and the Naval Post Graduate School, International Resource Management program.
Isaac Castro of Hamlin is an attorney in private practice, and was previously elected Stonewall County Attorney, Mayor of Hamlin, and member of the Hamlin Independent School District Board of Trustees. He was president for the Hamlin Economic Development Corporation Board of Directors and is a member of the Abilene Hispanic Leadership Council, Texas Association of Bank Counsel and the State Bar of Texas. Castro received a Bachelor of Arts from Angelo State University and a Juris Doctor from The University of Texas School of Law.
Fred Tate of Colleyville is a strategically focused Fractional CFO who helps businesses achieve top line and bottom line growth. He is an active volunteer with GRACE Christmas Cottage, Patriot Paws, the Bransford Elementary Dad’s club and serves as Tiger Cub Den Leader. Tate received a Bachelor of Business Administration from Baylor University.
