Governor Abbott Appoints Dvorak And Pierce To Texas Council On Sex Offender Treatment

Governor Greg Abbott has appointed Charissa Dvorak and reappointed Aaron Pierce, Ph.D. to the Council on Sex Offender Treatment for terms set to expire on February 1, 2023. The council sets forth the standards for treatment and oversees the licensing of providers.

Charissa Dvorak of Heath is an attorney at Spencer Fane, LLP. She is a board member of GRACE and member of the State Bar of Texas and the National Association of Parliamentarians. Dvorak received a Bachelor of Arts from Baylor University, Juris Doctor from Baylor Law and a Master of Business Administration from Houston Baptist University.

Aaron Pierce, Ph.D. of Temple is the clinical director of the Clinical and Forensic Consulting Services in Waco and is current chair of the Texas Council on Sex Offender Treatment. He is a member of the American Counseling Association, Society for Police and Criminal Psychology and the International Association for Correctional and Forensic Psychologists. Pierce received a Bachelor of Arts from Stephen F. Austin State University, Masters of Arts from University of Mary Hardin Baylor and a Doctor of Philosophy from Capella University.
