Governor Abbott Reappoints Gipson To Sabine River Compact Commission

Governor Greg Abbott has reappointed Jerry Gipson to the Sabine River Compact Commission for a term set to expire on July 12, 2022. The compact is made up of two representatives from Texas, two representatives from Louisiana and one representative from the United States. The commissioners are responsible for administering the provisions of the Sabine River Compact entered into by Texas, Louisiana and the United States.

Jerry Gipson of Longview is a retired chief pilot with over 30 years of experience. He is involved with various efforts for veterans. Additionally, he was honorably discharged from the U.S. Air Force, with the rank of captain, and was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross and Air Medal with 3 Oak Leaf Clusters as a combat pilot. Gipson received a Bachelor of Arts in economics and business from Northeastern Oklahoma University.
