Governor Abbott Appoints Frei And Yosowitz To Task Force On Infectious Disease Preparedness And Resp

Governor Greg Abbott has appointed Christopher R. Frei, Pharm.D. and Edward E. Yosowitz, M.D. to the Task Force on Infectious Disease Preparedness and Response. The task force provides expert, evidence-based assessments, protocols, and recommendations related to state responses to infectious diseases, and to serve as a reliable and transparent source of information and education for Texas leadership and citizens. Task force members serve at the pleasure of the governor.

Christopher R. Frei, Pharm.D. of Boerne is an associate professor and division head for the Pharmacotherapy Department of The University of Texas at Austin, College of Pharmacy. He is also Director of the Pharmacotherapy Education and Research Center for the School of Medicine at the UT Health Science Center in San Antonio. He is a member of the Infectious Diseases Society of America, Society of Infectious Disease Pharmacists and the Texas Society of Health System Pharmacists. Frei received a Master of Science and Doctor of Pharmacy from The University of Texas at Austin. 

Edward E. Yosowitz, M.D. of Houston is a clinical associate professor at Baylor College of Medicine, Department of Obstetrics/Gynecology. He is also a founding member and Medical Director of the Women’s Specialists of Houston Center at the Texas Children’s Hospital Pavilion for Women. He is certified by the American Board of Obstetrics/Gynecology and is a member of the American and Harris County Medical Societies. He is also a member if the Central Association of OB/GYNs and the American Fertility Society. Yosowitz received a Bachelor of Arts in medical sciences and a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Indiana.
