Governor Abbott Appoints Best As District Attorney For 119th Judicial District
Governor Greg Abbott has appointed John Best of San Angelo as District Attorney for the 119th Judicial District in Runnels, Concho and Tom Green Counties, effective June 1, 2016, for a term set to expire at the next general election in November 2016.
John Best is first assistant district attorney for the 51st Judicial District in the Tom Green County District Attorney’s Office. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas and president of the Tom Green County Bar Association. He is an ex-officio board member of the Children’s Advocacy Center of San Angelo, board member of the Promises for Families Foundation and a member of the Concho Valley Child Fatality Review Team and the Concho Valley Law Enforcement Lion’s Club. Best received a Bachelor of Business Administration from The University of Texas at Austin and a Juris Doctor from St. Mary’s School of Law.
