Governor Abbott Appoints Two To Board Of Pilot Commissioners For Galveston County Ports

Governor Greg Abbott has appointed Trey Hill and Kelly Lovell to the Board of Pilot Commissioners for Galveston County Ports for terms set to expire on February 1, 2020. The Board has exclusive jurisdiction over the piloting of vessels on navigable streams wholly or partially located in the board’s jurisdiction.

Arden C. “Trey” Hill III of Friendswood is president of Hill Sand Company, Inc. He currently serves as president of Friendswood Capital Corporation and is a board member of Texan Bank. Additionally, he is a coach for Friendswood Youth baseball and is a board member of Friendswood Youth Football and the Mike Doiron Golf Tournament. Hill attended Texas State University.

Kelly K. Lovell of Friendswood is administrative vice president at United Valve. Previously, she was a clinical research program coordinator at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center. She is a member of the Society of Human Resources Management and the Texas A&M Lettermans Association. Additionally, she is vice president and board member of the Friendswood Education Foundation. Lovell received a Bachelor of Science in Ag Leadership and Development from Texas A&M University and a Masters of Science in Instructional Technology from the University of Houston, Clear Lake.
